Happy Holidays!

Greetings, everyone.

So the holiday season is upon us, and so is the last post on the Furry Waves for 2021. Today will mostly be a random day, with a couple of Christmas-related sets at the end.

First, let’s take a look at Dragon. A claymation series that primarily aired on Canada’s Treehouse TV, this one is based on the Dav Pilkey (of Captain Underpants fame) series of books of the same name. This one is about an imaginative dragon who goes about his life, along with his friends.

These are from season 3, episode 9. On a rainy day, Dragon decides to pass the time playing pretend of various things at home. One of these things is a diver.

Seriously, look at those teeth. Looks like he could bite someone’s head off in one chomp.

The imagination on display is pretty high up there; the mask is an old tin, the fins are paper cutout, and of course, the pillow for an air tank.

Here’s the episode online (2nd segment):

Next up, let’s check out Daniel Tiger.

Real quick, Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood is basically a memorial show to the famous Fred Rogers, starring one of his puppet personalities, Daniel Tiger, who is now 5 years old and living with his family in a beach house.

Damn, talk about moving up.

Anyway, the show focuses on coping strategies and emotional intelligence. The show has a fairly large cast, but I won’t get into them here.

Two sets here. First is from ‘Daniel’s Day of Many Feelings’, during which he imagines he’s a deep sea diver. With no air tank.

No easy link here, you’ll have to hunt this one down yourself.

Next up, is a set from ‘You Can Play Your Own Way’, during which our titular character pretends he’s playing underwater games, specifically, a race.

Honestly, I like the swimsuit he’s rocking here a bit more than the wetsuit in the previous set for some reason, not sure exactly why.

You know, you’d think for a show with five seasons and a sixth on the way, where the title character literally lives in a beach house, that there would be more diving than this. Oh well.

Finally, our two Christmas sets. Both of these are very brief.

First one we have is from Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas, which is a series of short stories based around Christmas. In the first one, ‘Stuck on Christmas’, Huey, Dewey, and Louie create a Groundhog Day scenario by wishing for Christmas Day to repeat indefinitely.

The scene here is from when their massive aunt shows up and tries to drown them in kisses for the umpteeth time.

OK, even as a kid, I’ve always hated relatives that treated your face like pulled pork and had absolutely no sense of personal boundaries. Screw that noise.

Donald even forces them to receive this treatment during one run through the day, which kinda drove me bonkers. Screw you, Donald.

So that makes me feel less sympathy for what happens in this last set. This one’s from the sequel to this show ‘Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas’. In ‘Christmas: Impossible’, the nephews are trying to ensure that they get on Santa’s nice list, and they ponder all the things they did to Donald in the past year, including…

Spin cycle, bitches.

No clips for these last two; you’ll have to seek them out on your own, dear reader.

Alright, time for me to close this out for 2021. Have a great holiday season, and see you all next year!
