Christmas Hodgepodge

Good day, everyone! Hope you all are well.

Today is basically going to be a random day, so let’s get after it.
First up, we have Paz the Penguin, who was the mascot for the ‘Ready Set Learn!’ block on The Learning Channel and Discovery Kids starting in the early 90s. Paz himself had puppet segments and animated cartoons.

This set is from ‘Seaworthy’, wherein Paz’s dog friend is scared of the water, and the gang tries to rectify that.

And here’s the video…

Next up, we have a couple more sets from Talking Tom segments. This first one stars Hank, the OG dog in the show.

The above is actually from two cartoons. Here’s the first…

And here’s the second. Gotta say that Hank kinda comes off like a creep here.

This second set involves Ben, the geek of the group.

And here’s the video…

Next up, we have a few magazine covers from ‘Шишкин Лес’, a Russian children’s franchise that seems to be most well known as a puppet series that’s been running for quite a while. Translating roughly as ‘Shishkin Forest’ a translated synopsis reads:

‘A friendly company of animals lives in the fairy forest – the kind mouse Shunya, the mischievous wolf cub Zubok, the resilient kitten Koksik, the nimble fox Freckles and their senior mentors – the economic Raccoon Enotych and the omniscient owl Matilda Leonardovna. The merry adventures of the inhabitants of Shishkino Les help children think about good and evil, teach them to respect elders and help the younger ones, to live in peace, to forgive and understand each other, to overcome fear and laziness.’

So there you go.

These star Zubok and Freckles.

Finally, last set for the year actually comes from Family Guy’s ‘Lawyer Guy’, part of the story has Stewie and Brian becoming lobster fishermen.

The pair of them end up on a couple of dives, the first of which doesn’t end well for Brian…

On the second dive, Stewie goes to dangerous depths to finish the job to save Rupert, his stuffed bear, from the depths, only for both to have to be rescued by Brian.

Alrighty, that’s all for this entry! Now, an announcement.

I’ve decided that from now on, I will no longer post on a set schedule.

I will generally now only post if an interesting new set comes my way, or just when I feel like it. This will likely mean that posts will, on the whole, be less frequent.

I apologize if this upsets some of you, but I’ve reached the stage doing this thing where I feel not as enthused about this as I did years ago, and only feel the need to post when it suits me to do so.

This is not a total exit by any means, it just means that I’ll be posting less often.

If you want to know when I post, you can sign up for email alerts on the right side, or you can follow my Twitter. I will still be fairly active there, by the way.

See you next time and happy holidays!

Feline Fury

Welcome back, everyone! Happy May to you all. We’re well into Spring here.

Today, let’s take a look at some kitties that I’ve gotten since I last spotlighted them.

First, let’s take a look at ‘OLI’s Wilde Welt’, wherein a lion with a green mane travels the natural world in a bid to learn enough to become the ‘king of all animals’.

These pics are from episodes focusing on beluga whales and octopuses.

Couldn’t they have at least given him a mask that fit properly?

The episodes…

This next set is from a Mighty Mouse comic named ‘Undersea Raiders’.

I like seeing the old school gear once in a while. Nice change of pace.

Next up, we have another group from Baby Felix, which I have covered before.

These are from ‘Sea What You Can Sea’.

And here’s the episode…

Finally, we have a new series from Talking Tom & Friends’ ‘Beach Day in the Desert’, wherein the gang is travelling to the beach for the last day of summer, when the bus they’re riding in breaks down. What follows is a storm made of a date between Tom and Angela, ice pops, Ginger coveting said ice pops, boredom, and ultimately, a Mad Max style scene.

OK, so noone gets in the water, but snorkelling gear is involved, so clearly, it counts.

By the way, if you look closely, Ginger’s mask actually roughs up with sand over the course of the action scene. Nice touch.

The episode…

Alright, everyone, that wraps it up for today. See you next month!
